Choosing others over Sasuke or choosing Sasuke over others. This is the situation Naruto has to face in the near future. Unfortunately he can't remain impartial, while in the mean time he doesn't want his friends or other innocent lives(as melo put it) to suffer, nor does he fancy the thought of killing Sasuke(apparently). I would say he is in a very pitiless situation and whatever he will choose to do he will end up getting hurt. It's a lose-lose situation no matter how you look at it.Even so, i hope there might be another option for him that I'm failing to see, that will satisfy both the "goat and the cabbage". Also i read somewhere on the internet that Kishi is planing a happy-ending for this anime and that he even has the last episode in mind, the lines, the music, the way the things will happen,etc ... so that means he can't kill Sasuke,no? Will there even be a happy-ending without Sasuke?(for Naruto at least)

right now it does not appear to have a happy ending rougue-nin. i agree with everyones comments that naruto has to do something but what he does i have no idea what will happen

the happy ending: it is sasuke's fate to be the last uchiha and to gain the true power of the sharingan. but it will be naruto who will kill madara, with the help of sasuke of course who seem to have a 'change of heart' in the end. it is all thanks to him for 'walking the path of darkness' where madara reigns in order to know this invincible immortal's secret, his weakness, and consequently, to destroy him and save the world.

This chapter breaks off from the Killerbee/Kisame fight and returns us back to Naruto and Danzo’s plotlines. I get the feeling that this lack of any continuation scenes after Kisame’s decapitation means that he is really a goner for good — I’m a bit pissed off that his character was just thrown away like that after such a long time, but what’s done is done. Chapter 474 has quite a few new developments including the Danzo vs. Madara encounter as well as Sai’s information on Sakura’s true intentions — something that will have important ramifications on Naruto’s quest to save Sasuke. I want to talk about Sai’s message to Naruto. But before that, if anyone is reading Sleepy Fans scanlations on Onemanga, what the hell is an “age mate?” as Sai puts it to Naruto in the first few pages. I think it just means friends or maybe classmates; maybe it’s a slang in some other country? Back on topic, Sai tells Naruto so shocking info about Konoha’s decision to kill off Sasuke and goes on to postulate Sakura’s emotions on the matter and what she plans to do. Maybe it‘s just me, but I found it pretty amusing that a guy like Sai, who up until a few month ago had no understanding of bonds and emotions, is suddenly trying to play mediator in this emotional turmoil between Naruto, Sakura and Sasuke. Heck, he even psychoanalyzes Sakura’s feelings down to the core and manages to predict her next move: to kill Sasuke herself. This from the guy who has been raised from childhood to erase all emotions and bonds from his mind. Maybe I’m reading too deep into this, but Sai’s actually doing a lot more harm than good here ever since she went to talk to Sakura about her feelings for Naruto. He’s suppose to be on Naruto’s side and protecting them against Danzo’s spies, but he’s doing a lot more damage by himself through all this meddling into Naruto and Sakura’s affairs. After hearing Sai’s news, Naruto is now placed at a very difficult position; in fact, in the span of just this one chapter, Naruto has become incredibly alone. By that I mean he now feels that he is alone in his quest to save Sasuke and bring him back to Konoha. According to Sai’s message, all of Konoha including Naruto’s own friends in the Konoha 11 are turning their back on Sasuke and prepared to end his life in order to prevent him from doing anymore harm to the world. Even Sakura, the person who probably loved Sasuke the most, has now given up on this foolish notion of returning everything back to the way it was. So what is Naruto to do now? Everything seems to be stacked against him. All the major countries have Sasuke on a death warrant, Konoha wants Sasuke dead, Sakura is ready to end his life with her own hands if necessary, and Sasuke himself has clearly chosen this road and does not want to be “saved.” But what really hammers the final nail in the coffin is Gaara coming up to Naruto and basically saying “if you want to be a real man like me, go and end that little b*tch’s life.” And because it has been already been established that Gaara is a man’s man, what he says goes. If Naruto continues down his road of “saving” Sasuke, he will be going against everyone else’s wishes and will seem like he is doing this only out of sheer stubbornness and ignorance of reality. Naruto’s looking for a “happy ending” here, that may seem childish but that’s the way Naruto is (and pretty much all Shonen manga heroes). But this isn’t the happy and adventurous childhood times Naruto and friends experienced way back when this series first started. Great crimes have been committed, trust has been broken, people have died. A great war in looming just on the horizon and Sasuke will most definitely play a key role as Madara’s pawn. If Sasuke is left alive, he will likely be responsible for the deaths of many people during the war. This isn’t just about Naruto wanting to save his friend anymore, can Naruto put his own feelings above the well being of the rest of the world? According to Sai, Sakura is clear on her course of action. She will attempt to locate Sasuke and kill him herself. She definitely still loves him, but if she believes Sasuke has lost himself to the darkness already, then she could very well justify killing him in order to save him from himself. Heck, she could very well strangle Sasuke to death on the spot if she finds him with Karin; wouldn‘t it be awkward if she found them while Sasuke was “biting“ into Karin to heal himself? LOL. But if Sakura does manage to kill Sasuke, I think that would be the end of her as well; by that I mean she would mentally collapse and never be the same again. Of course, Naruto will not stand by and let this happen and try to stop Sakura. But but what are the alternatives after that? How do you save a person that doesn’t want to be saved and bring him back to a world that wants him dead? It’s a no-win situation any way you look at it. It’ll be interesting to see how Kishi will carry this forward. Lastly, I want to touch on the Madara and Danzo encounter a bit. I think that scenes pretty much puts an end to all that Danzo = Madara nonsense, but the two definitely have a history together. Madara mentions that he hasn’t seen Danzo since the Uchiha massacre — this isn’t that much of a surprise since Danzo was one of the instigators of that event. Danzo probably knows much more about Madara and Akatsuki than anyone right now, but he clearly isn’t Madara’s friend either. This encounter with Madara allows us to see the other hidden weapon of Danzo’s, his right arm. My first thought was Automail, but then I realized this was the wrong manga :p Like his right eye, this arm probably isn’t Danzo’s original one either, but is it from Shisui as well or some other poor sob? It would interesting to see a full battle between Danzo and Madara, but I have a feeling that Madara is hear to talk. What frightens me is that these two actually share some common interests to make a temporary alliance possible and make this coming war a whole lot messier. That’s all for this week. P.S. I think it is important to look at what Sasuke represents. I think he represents the cycle of hatred that naruto is trying to end, and killing him is specifically not the answer, just as killing pain wasn't the answer. The difficulty of changing Sasuke's heart is quite apparent, in a way that it is not so apparent with the darkness in the hearts of the general people. That is one of the reasons why his character is so important - he is the microscopic representation of the cycle of hatred, just as naruto is the microscopic solution. The macroscopic representation is of course the disposition of the people of narutoworld to seek revenge for injustice against them rather than forgiveness. Itachi gave naruto whatever power he gave him immediately after he said to naruto something along the lines of "What if he tries to destroy konoha? Would you kill him?" and naruto replied "I would find a way to save both Konoha AND Sasuke without killing him" which makes me think that the gift Itachi gave him was intended specifically to help naruto NOT kill Sasuke, but still have the means to defeat him. Anyway, that's why I don't think Naruto will ever kill Sasuke. If the story is to have an ending where the cycle of hatred is broken, naruto cant afford to kill him or he has already given into the hatred. That's what I reckon anyway :)

Comm #109 just whacked me with idea of what Itachi gave to Naruto. Not a jutsu, not anything. Just some of his chakra, so he can appear when Sasuke enters Naruto's mind or fights him seriously, just like Minato did. Then, Itachi can tell Sasuke that that is not the path he wanted for his brother, nor is right.

@comment 109 - Indeed Sasuke can't die. If Sasuke is going to die by anyones hand, let alone Naruto's, then the chain of hatred you mentioned will never end. He barely contained himself from killing Pain, that was the cause of the death of his mentor, but if his most precious person was to die, in this case Sasuke, refraining himself from getting revenge I don't think it will be an option. There are only so much things a person can bear and Sasuke's death is one thing Naruto can't. NightWizard...lol...now that you mention it it actually makes sense! It's no secret that the only person that can get to Sasuke in his actual state is Itachi.(Yes..i admit! in the anime they made it clear that orochimaru is dead. come to think about it all itachi did is deworm sasuke of the snake parasite.

I believe that Sasuke is going to give Sakura a chance to kill him(I just have this big feeling he would because he may still have a little good inside of him), but Sakura can't do it. So Sakura's plan would eventually fail and would be to late to realize that she missed a chance to kill him because after that missed chance Sasuke will eventually become more evil and unstoppable. Just like what happened to the 3rd Hokage and Orochimaru..the 3rd Hokage had a chance to kill Orochimaru but didn't do so..So Orochimaru escaped and became moreeee evil

just a thought danzou becomes part of akatsuki and so he will be a missing nin, then sasuke fights with konoha against him to get his revenge on danzou

When it comes to Sasuke and his revenge, its has already taken its path. Naruto will have to prove that Madara is the one behind the death of the Uchiha. This will be done when they solve the problem of moving the seal on Sai's tongue so that he can talk about Danzo. The Elders might just be innocent of this so called massacre of the Uchiha. I think this is what going to happen or something close to it. Its solves part of the problem to Sasuke's revenge. However, he might still be on the darkside as he will not be on the hunt for Madara.

i think that sasuke has lost his sense of good and evil ever since he killed itachi, and finking out that it is not enough, seems like the thirst for more power is driving him more or maybe finding someone strong enough to kill him but he just would not die somebody always saves him for some reason

With the direction this manga is taking, it would not surprise me in the least (although it would be a pleasant one) if Danzo is the BROTHER of Madara. If you put the pieces together, it sort of makes sense. Danzo's main goal is to become Hokage (as was his Sharrigan founding ancestor's goal). He wanted to kill off the Uchia, a sentiment that he shared with his brother due to the Uchia's 'betrayal' of their clan leading plans. Madara's brother was automatically glossed over/forgotten in the story...he gave up his eyes but that's all we know of him. Did he just die?...or did he take some other poor sap's eye? He was looking for the opportunity to regain his sharrigan...a powerful sharrigan so that he could once again return to form and proclaim his position at the top of Mount Hokage. Thus we have Sushi's eye implanted after he devised a plan to rid himself of the cursed Uchia clan. Just a theory...

@121 Nothing is ever as it seems, and though Madara is pretty forthcoming with information, I'm not inclined to believe his entire story. My guess is that the stories that he's told thus far are very true, but the events/semantics of his stories are somewhat skewed. Again, it could be a far fetched conspiracy theory, but a founding father brother reunion would be kind of awesome...we need a new major twist.

Nice comment today guys, ch474...well Gaara did found Naruto..but that was after Sai finish told him evrything =( ... well rite now Naruto would want to be d "save side", which mean he decided not to kill sasuke, or maybe to be kill by Sasuke if that can make Sasuke give up on destroying the world, n becoz of his promise to Itachi (just my theory)..n i dont think Sasuke would want to b a good guy anymore after all what he did to all the Kages, plus he's 1 of the dangerous criminal now, all the shinobi will never let him go just like that. maybe he want to be but he's ego would make him difficult to change... if the power that Itachi gave to Naruto is the final jutsu(if that whats Itachi gave) for Naruto to stop Sasuke, n Itachi never wish Naruto to use it, than it is not a power that can save Sasuke, but to eliminate ultimately Sasuke...wow, than thats the hardest part.

@118 - Sato4Kaiba. I don't think that Naruto has to prove anything to Sasuke, judging by the fact that he is already aware that Madara has something to do with the massacre as Itachi told him. But then again, he might put two and two together and assume that if Itachi was innocent in this story then so might be Madara. If this will be the case then yeah...Naruto will have one hell of a time in proving Sasuke otherwise.

@126 chelor - Uhm, i don't know! I mean... i don't think that Madara can use the jinchuuriki he has 'til now at his own free will. Whenever he fells like it, put a leash around the Ichibi and take him out for a walk. I don't believe they will be used until they are all gathered. On the other hand...Danzou in the Akatsuki...it IS a possibility and many of you(even myself at one point)believe that this is the next move, but dunno, something doesn't quite click.(and if he will indeed join then the LAST bit of the Akatsuki-charm will be ruined *laughs*)

I think we're getting a sense from Naruto being alone in his quest to save Sasuke into how Jiraiya felt about Orochimaru. They were teammates and established a bond that enables them to see to eachothers core selves. Others may not have the same "rose-colored glasses". Some think they are deceived, others call may call it hope in a friend's potential.

@129 - While it's true that at one point Jiraiya found himself in the same position as Naruto actually is, it's not really the same from one point of view, at least. Jiraiya decided to give up on Orochimaru, while Naruto does not intend to do such a thing. Not now, not ever(hopefully!). But right now, the odds are quite against him and his...purpose(a.k.a Sasuke) which makes me think that maybe, just maybe, Jiraiya was forced to give up on him, due to the pressure from Konoha, as Naruto is.

As far as I could tell, the Sharingan's on Danzo's hand looked more like tattoos rather than actual eyes, and I say this because some Sharingan's were bigger than others. Just a tought, what if Danzo can summon the Uchihas that those Sharingans belonged to? What if some Uchihas were kept alive just for this purpose?

I saw the pic with Danzo's arm more clearly now, and, they look like real Sharingans. But, don't Sharingans consume a lot of chakra, especially to a non-Uchiha like Danzo? I think, Danzo will go all out on this one.

Here is a What If: What if Danzo is an Uchiha but one who decides to get ultimate power. It sounds good but then it would beg the question, why take Shuhi right arm. Or, was it because Shushi's eye is in Danzo's right arm and he was using it at the time. Is it possible that Danzo can used each Sharingan independently? Interesting indeed!

Well it only consumes a lot of chakra if it is actually in use, thats why danzo and kakashi both have their sharingan eyes covered most of the time so it isnt in use. Im also assuming thats why danzo had the seal on his hand to cover those sharingans if they truly are actual eyes. Fucken sick if you ask me, he has a sharingan on his palm. What if he wanted to cath a beat or something you know what i mean.

@onekingowns: No, no, I wasn't referring to the fact that the Sharingans had to consume his chakra until now. I am referring to the fact that as of now, the Sharingans are activated, and they are starting to consume chakra rapidly. If he starts using them all at once.... well, his chakra should be consumed after a few minutes.

You are one sadistic guy XD Obviously the fight will be between Sasuke and Danzou, but can he actually beat Sasuke? A non-Uchiha beating an actual Uchiha? It takes a great toll on a person to use the advanced forms of the Sharingan, especially if that person is not his 'rightful owner' and let's not mention that as far as we know, Danzou is only human, so his chakra is limited, so from this point of view i find no meaning in having so many eyes, while the theory of 'summoning' them and use them at your will in a battle seems more...advantageous. If this theory proves to be the right one then maybe he had even foreseen the battle with Sasuke and kept either Mikoto or Fugaku or both, as his trump card and as his winning ticket. Even engulfed in the 'darkness' Sasuke wouldn't be able to 'kill' his parents once again.

Madara, The Ultimate Puppet! I am inclined to think that the only thing that is real on Madara that is of any significant importance is the Mask he wears. There must be a seal written on the inwards of that mask that allow Madara to move in the world's time. Madara uses this mask to like a focus point for the space-time jutsu (only to control the body). His whole body is just a puppet that he controls (most likely using chakra strings or something similar). When the Aburame was attacked, Madara's right arm was infected with the poison chakra bugs. He then unhinged the arm and discarded it on ground. When he spoke to Sasuke, he transferred his body out of the space-time he resides. Not too long after, he showed his face to Kisame (That's the only time I know that his face was seen). I think that Madara body is dying. His solution was to create a jutsu that will allow him to exist in space-time and interact with the ninja world via a medium, the mask. I also think that he was going to destroy the ninja world using the bijuus and escape with Nagato in space-time. When he was sure that he was the most powerful ninja alive, he would leave space-time. Upon leaving, he would die. Nagato would have then used his ultimate life-death jutsu to revive his body and he, Madara would have been reborn. The only thing we see is that one sharingan. We have no idea that when we see it, his face is there or he is watching from an opening in space-time. Only when he is moving large objects through the space-time portal, we see the swirls. I hope that Kishi shows us the secrets of Madara soon.

Sasuke will get his revenge and kill Danzo. This is the solution to making Sasuke sink into the dark side and to the elders accepting Kakashi as Hokage. With Danzo dead, Kakashi will be the most obvious choice. Kakashi will be the only ninja to Konoha's disposal that still have a sharingan. The other two is own by Akatsuki. Only a sharingan can fight a sharingan. So, enjoy the fight with Sasuke vs Danzo and see why Danzo was head of Root. I hope that when he dies, the seal on Sai's tongue dissolves and allowing him to talk about the dealings of root!

@ 153 sato4kaiba : Madara's mask has no importance in his traveling in another time and space jutsu. I think his Sharingan has this role. Remember when Sasuke incinerated him with Amaterasu? He dropped his mask, yet he disappeared. We can see the scene in today's episode.

From 135 to 137(although in 135 are more flashbacks than the actual fight). I don't know...this is...just sick. I mean Sakura's fight with Sasori subsisted for like ten episodes while the most awaited fight of the series lasted only 2 episodes

You know, I don't have much free time on my hands, because I have to go to work, play on my PS3, stay with my girlfriend.... and when I want to talk with someone about Naruto, for me, this kind of site is what I'm after. On forums, I have to search for different topics, there are lots of users, lots of discussions, if you missed the beggining of a discution, you have to re-read all the posts, all 53 (pages) or more, you know, it's kinda boring and time wasting for me. Here, I enter the site, click on comments, and things are kept simple. I am not against forums, but, you have to have a lot of free time to stay and surf the forum. Here, is like we are this bunch of guys (and girls) that shares opinions ... discuss chapters, you know what I mean, That is the kind of thing I am expecting to find ;)

Ok, so Danzo is a Sharingan collector .... but, I bet he can't see with his arm (even if it is an anime, come on... I still don't think it is that possible)... but, what if Danzo can change the Sharingan that he has in his right eye socket with one that he has on his arm? I think it would be more "plausible" than actually using his arm to see.

WARNING SPOILERS MUCH LIKE A RUMOUR After the 4th great ninja war has been finaly put to an end, three great friends were pronounced as heros. Sakura as the strongest and wisest kunoichi, Sasuke(dispite the past) as the true pride of the Uchiha clan, and Uzumaki Naruto as the Gardian Angel of the leaf village(as Sasuke called him) and 6th Hokage.

@Semaka - I don't really think so! If this would be the case then this should be Danzou's trump card, so to say. If the Sharigans on his arm have the only purpose of being a replacement, then why expose them during a battle and risk 'damaging' them?

@189 - Hard to admit it but, Sakura already is the wisest of the Kunoichis. Always been that way. Strongest... maybe because Kishi will say so, but from my point of view, she proved numerous time her uselessness in the battle field(although she also had short 'glory' moments). Sasuke already is the pride of the Uchiha. He also proved his worthiness of the Uchiha name more than one time. The ending you imagined is a cheesy one, while Kishi is a man that is not an adept of cheesiness, 'til now at least. But, it's not like it's impossible and I say this mostly because of Naruto. What keeps him from focusing on being the future Hokage, is Sasuke himself. While Gaara suggested that being the leader you can not please everyone and sacrifices must be made, I doubt that he will rule carefree over Konoha, knowing that he wasn't able to save Sasuke, nor do i believe that he will even accept the position if offered if he will fail in his mission.

Whoah, danzo's arm freaked me out!!! interesting theories sato, oneking, semaka regarding the monster armfull of sharingans. it really is interesting to know (1) what jutsus these eyes can do, (2) how powerful these jutsus would be, and (3) where danzo would get the huge amount of chakra to power these jutsus and to fulfill the demands of the multiple sharingans. these makes necessary that danzo should implant into his own body shishui's arm and shoulders and not only his eyes, in order to fulfill the demands of the sharingan to have an uchiha body and to have the chakra an uchiha body is capable of wielding to power the sharingan's jutsus. however, it would take some sort of freak forbidden jutsu to make the arm wield eyes! which means that that arm is not an ordinary human arm, it is a monster that takes the form of an arm; like a miniature gedo mazo. also it was being held/contained by a seal -- like when a bijuu is sealed. it is worthy to note also that danzo was so confident that he can take sasuke and madara's sharingans!!! like he was saying that he was able to defeat a lot of uchihas before and has taken their sharingans. that would mean that he could have been the one who killed shisui, and has been an active participant in the massacre of the uchiha clan. that was how he was able to take a lot of sharingans. morevoer, it is my understanding that when the uchiha loses consciousness and dies, the sharingan gets deactivated. so i think danzo had to take the eyes while the sharingans were still active. that means the uchiha victims must still be alive when he gouged out their eyes!!! indeed, it is much like capturing jinchuurikis. if he was able to do that then he must be really powerful! or at least he must have accomplished the evil deed with the help of another powerful creature like a monster summoning or an evil shinobi. this leads us to the question: so what were danzo and madara's participation in the uchiha massacre? were they against each other or were they allies in that event? and now about the recent madara vs danzo fight: i sense that madara did not come precisely to fight danzo. it appears that he was even surprised that danzo is fighting him! even the headline question in page 1 is: what does madara want with danzo? now why is danzo fighting madara? either danzo merely wants to add more to his sharingan collection or was in the understanding that madara is now to settle the score with him, as from what he did during the last time they saw each other at the uchiha massacre. what really did happen in the night of the uchiha massacre?

And unless he DOES implant them into his face, he MUST be able to see from them, coz most sharingan abilities require looking. And Go Naruto! Don't listen to anyone! If you can save Sasuke all by yourself with the world against you, that'd be an awesome victory. If I was madara, i'd totally suck all my enemies into my strange space and leave them their to starve to death.
