Great chapter My friend has this theory that Danzo is actually Tobi and that it's not Madara (or they're somehow the same person). Tobi only has a hole in his mask for his right eye and Danzo's right eye is always covered (even back in the day when he was with Hanzo). And now after this chapter he's even more convinced, because how would Danzo know that Pain was one of Jaraiya's pupils. And to be honest, it's actually a very convincing hypothesis. Also, Tobi had somewhere to be - which could've been the meeting they had.

DANZO IS TOBI take alook at chapter ( 397 ) when tobi tried to take away his mask , look carefully at the wrinkles around his eye it is exactly the same of the danzo's one and also in this chapter when tobi said (I have another matter to ATTEND to) i think he meant the council room .

Now this is quite a chapter. Naruto finally gets his recognition (not to mention a hug from Sakura). The Kumo messengers finally arrive in Konoha, and they're quite a fun bunch, like their sensei, Killer Bee. The Akatsuki is aware the Eight-Tails was not captured as they thought, so they sent Kisame after him. And the shocker of all... Danzo is made the 6th Hokage! WTF!?!? The Fire Lordess is on crack! Who in their right mind will choose this old man, who can't fight anyway, to be Hokage?! I can already see Danzo placing Konoha under military rule and will crack down on Naruto and anyone who stands in his way. Makes me wonder how the other kages will react to Danzo being the new Hokage. Sasuke is on his way to Konoha anyway, so there's chance Danzo will be killed thus having a short reign.

@14 - The Kumo (Cloud) ninjas are there to deliever the messege that their Raikage called for a meeting of the kages. They're not in Konoha to fight.

I see sasuke coming or danzo as tobi coming and causing big scene or havoc danzo blaming naruto and or banishing him from village. Or better yet making him public enemy number one for naruto saving sasuke from preceived fatal blow or some such. in the meantime either tsunade wakes up says naruto is hokage but doesn't have enough time to make it official and dies. or tsunade turns better but hasn't waken up yet and danzo kills tsunade. then somehow blames it on naruto. blah blah blah yada yada yada. make no mistake this is the end of the series and it is going to get more and more predictable

To comment #15... IMHO... The matter that Tobi had to attend to is the meeting with the other Hokage's and not the council meeting. The timing is off for Danzo to Madara and Tobi and Obito.

hey guys, i am sorry 4 my loooooooooong absence. wat a nice chapter, really cool. i agree, DANZO is not madara. remark that in the manga while madara is getting the news that pein is dead, meanwhile in konoha they are having a meeting so madara cant be in 2 places at the same time. i am veeeeeeeeeeeery angry that there was no naruto-hina hug today, she is the one that gave up her life 4 naruto not sakura.And dnaruto is a CRAZY IDIOT, if i remember well, he saw hinata die 4 him NOT sakura. i think sakura should remind him. how can it be that danzo is hokage, konoha will become sumthing else worse than now. i am happy that sasuke is coming cuz as he said he is out against the heads of konoha not inhabitants. so he might just come and finish off danzo. i am only afraid of his own ggroup of anbu, hey wat am i saying i am sure that even if they r strong they cant be stronger than the HEBI. where is the gai group? i REALLY hoped that kakashi would become hokage. but at least he is on the standby list. so once danzo is killed ,he becomes HOKAGE.

@ comment 15: i dont thing that danzou is tobi because this is the purpose of kishi to confuse and than surpise us as he always do.Personally, i think that madara(tobi) is going to meet sasuke.If kishi explains us in the next chapter what tobi is doing, i think that it will be a very strong confirm that tobi is not danzou because he can't be in 2 different places in the same time expect he can do shadow clones.But knowing that until now, we haven't seen tobi to make kagebunshins, make us reaches the conclusion that tobi isn't danzou.Anyways, who knows kishi's mind...I really liked this chapter because we finaly see that all the village reconized naruto citizen of konoha and their hero.I was guessing my self why naruto didn't go to hinata or hinata to him..An intresting and romantic approach is rising among sakura and naruto,it was a very romantic moment..And finaly,by making danzou the 6th hokage,kishi has all the ingrendients to start the third ninja war and than it will be up to naruto to revolutionate the ninja world.I think that an terrible war appears in the sight for konoha and than naruto will know the true pain that nagato spoke off..

I think Killer Bee's pupils are gonna come in and ask for the meeting of hokages at the wrong time cuz danzo was just preaching not trusting other nations. Which will start the immediate attack on them, which starts the ninja war. and yes sauske will kill danzo.

hey people, longtime. well, i decided to drop by since d last episode was pretty interest. well, am glad to see kakashi back, then to d matter of danzou being hokage, i think he is going to have a very short period as hokage becos sasuke is on his way back and d only people that can stop sasuke from cutting off danzou's head is d original team 7 members. i dont think the root anbu stand a chance against sasuke to be honest, we saw when sasuke took on over a 100 ninja's while training wit ori and didnt even get scratched. The ninja's from d lightening village may actually run into sasuke but his going to leave them to his group member(hebi). then to d matter of hinata and sakura, sakura know hinata has feelings for naruto and so the hug she gave naruto should not be misread as something else. she has always been the one that would smack naruto and still be there to comfort him. she has always been that place that naruto can return to. so its more like a sibling relationship. however, hinata and naruto will have their time, am sure naruto remembers wat she said and wat she did for him. well, see u guyz around.

Another week, another chapter… First off, let’s start with the results from last week’s poll on the question: “Is Naruto stronger than Sasuke?” It wasn’t a surprise that Naruto won the vote by a landslide, which just raises a new question: is Sasuke strong enough to take on Danzo? Considering the fact that the young Uchiha almost got killed by Killerbee, while the ROOT leader was just appointed as the new Hokage makes me think there’s just no way for Sasuke to complete an assassination attempt like that. But enough about the emo kids, it’s time to concentrate on the main character! Naruto arrives back in Konoha after the grandiose spectacle that was his battle with Pein. The hero is exhausted and can barely move. Luckily his sensei shows up just in time to help him on the way home. It’s good to see that Kakashi’s made a nice recovery in such a short time. My expectations were that he’d need to rest for a few weeks, like after his clash with Deidara. As Naruto enters the city limits, he is welcomed by the cheering of a gigantic crowd – the citizens of Konoha, who have gathered to thank their savior. In the three years since Naruto became a ninja he has managed to earn the respect he vowed to obtain. Even though things looked pretty grim for Naruto at the beginning of the series, through great determination, hard work and “the guts to never give up”, the number one knuckle-headed ninja finally gets a taste of what it’s like to live his dream. I’d say this chapter could under different circumstances be the very last in the series. It seems like just a matter of time until Naruto defeats the bad guys, gets Sasuke back and becomes the Hokage. The villagers are all very grateful for everything that Naruto’s done for them. They express their happiness in tears, screams and cheers, asking various questions, never for a moment giving Naruto a chance to catch his breath. Perhaps their feelings are best epitomised by Sakura, who first punches Naruto for being so irresponsible towards his own well-being, then hugs him and thanks him for all his efforts. But while everyone is celebrating, other events are slowly set in motion. We first see Akatsuki’s reaction to Pein’s death. As most of you predicted in last week’s poll, it seems Madara has no intention in dealing with the deflected Konan. It is disturbing to see the demon statue – Gedou Mazou still intact. Hopes were that it would disappear with Nagato’s death, but for one reason or another, it’s still standing, the bijuu inside it ready to be used by Madara. The Uchiha’s words: “We’ll need a new pawn to synchronise with Gedou ” makes me think that the statue requires a living human being that has to be constantly linked to it, in order to keep in the same dimension. In the outskirts of Konoha we see some development on the Thunder ninjas’ mission. They’ve located Konoha, or at least the remains of it and are about to go scouting for information on the recent events. Their role in the manga so far has been nothing but comic relief, let’s hope they at least have some interesting techniques that could help restore the village to its previous state. The final and most important events in the chapter revolve around the Hokage. We see Tsunade, who has reverted to her elderly-looking state, because her chakra has been completely drained. She’s fallen in a comatose state, from which she might not wake up anytime soon. At the same time, the Daymio has gathered all the village elders for an urgent meeting – his five consultants, Homura Mitokado and Utatane Koharu (the third Hokage’s teammates), Danzo – the leader of ANBU-ROOT, the unnamed ANBU agent, who’s in charge of the Hokage’s security and Shikaku Nara – Konoha’s head jounin are summoned to discuss the future of Konoha. Their first worries regard Akatsuki and the rebuilding of the village. A budget must be decided, workers form all parts of the country must be hired, in order to reconstruct the strongest shinobi village to its former glory. While discussions regarding what must be done on the matters of the other ninja countries take place, Danzo takes to opportunity to address another important issue – the Hokage’s position. With Tsunade unable to perform her duties, a new candidate must be elected, one who has the ability, the intelligence and the reputation required to take up such an important task. The Daymio, who seems a bit naive, wants to wait for Tsunade’s recovery, but is persuaded differently. he notes that his original choice would be the best – Jiraiya, but seeing as the legendary ninja is now deceased, such a thing is impossible. Just as Danzo is about to speak, he is cut off by Shikaku, who, being a smart man, gets an idea of what the elder is up to. The jounin nominates Kakashi as a candidate for the spot, which is welcomed with much excitement on the Daynio’s part, as he is swayed by the idea that the son of the White Fang and student of the fourth Hokage and also a man who has proven himself a great asset to the Fire country is available for the position. Many of you might wonder why Naruto wasn’t chosen immediately because of his victory over Pein. While it’s true that the blond is probably Konoha’s strongest ninja right now, he’s still too young and inexperienced in the “Kage business”. His nomination would’ve probably been turned down instantly. However, things take a turn for the worse. Kaksahi not appointed as the sixth Hokage, his place is surprisingly taken by Danzo. The man who is the cause for so much suffering in the shinobi world finally attains the power he’s been seeking his entire life – to be the leader of the strongest ninja village. By persuading the council that Sarutobi’s teachings were too meek and sympathetic, he proposes a new regime – one of harsh laws that will discourage attitude such as Orochimaru’s and will bring a new meaning of peace to the world. Shikaku’s protests remain unheard, the Daymio’s mind is made up. A new age of darkness is about to begin under the tyranny of Danzo

Very good chapter from an emotional / plot building stand point. Regardless of whether Naruto has the title, he IS greater than the Hokage, the village sees it, they know him has their hero. Danzou lurks in the shadows of Konoha and although he has his connections I don't see him as one able to sway the populous of Konoha, Naruto is their hero, their savior, heir to the Fourth in every way. He has been risen up on the foundations of the greats of Konoha. The Sandaime was the prodigal youth, overseen by the Shodaime and Nidaime. From the third came the Sennin. Jiraiya gave the village the Fourth and the Fourth brought Kakashi up as a Ninja, who in turn has passed his knowledge to Naruto. When you look at the history of his mentors it is clear that Naruto is the purest heir to the Will of Fire. Danzou is nothing more than a footnote, a very dangerous footnote, but a footnote nonetheless. Oh and regarding the lack of a Naru-Hina hug, bear in mind that Naruto was wore out, he just had the biggest fight to grace (or curse) Konoha since the Fourth sealed the Kyuubi. I don't think he was althogether there, but expect him and Hinata to have their close moment once he rests up.

Given the village was mostly destroyed, that meeting of the Fire Lord was more likely had taken place at the capital of the Fire Country. It was stated that Azuma *left* Konoha to join the 12 Guardians, thus the Fire Lord does not live in Konoha. Makes sense to not have all your eggs in one basket. At Comment 33, the decision was made by the Fire Lord, not Konoha's village elders.

@ Comment 21 - Danzo used crutches, so how can the guy look like a strong leader if he is walking around crippled? Furthermore, he caught that poor toad by surprise, thus I doubtful he would have killed the messenger toad if he didn't catch the little guy by surprise.

To all those NaruHina and NaruSaku fans: I think Kishi might be aiming for a three-way. Makes sense to me if both girls like Naruto and he likes them in return. Once the secret of his parentage comes out, I don't think Konoha would deny him happiness with more than one woman. ;)

I don't think Tobi is Danzo, makes no sense considering if he wanted to rule Konoha badly enough to act like a crippled guy he could've just killed the third and fourth. As far as Madara=Tobi=Obito that might make sense if you think about Orochimaru's body transfer. Say 100 year old Madara comes across Obito's body in the woods, excavates it and transfers himself in. Now, he has a young body, he can take the sharingan from his old body to keep it unlimited and now he has a real chance of getting revenge so he forms Akatsuki.

i think tobi being obito is out of the question, no offense meant, dietymaster and the others who espouse such a theory, but the (part) of the face we saw of tobi is old and not as young as kakashi and obito. moreover, tobi has not said anything to hint of obito nor suggest that at one time he needed a body to transfer to. i say, let obito rest in peace. as for danzo being madara. i think it is plausible, but i think it is more probable that danzo and madara have ties that bind them. i am inclined to see this because of madara's testimony about the elders and danzou's participation in the massacre of the uchiha clan. madara himself clearly said that it was a secret known only to the 3rd, the elders, and danzou, BUT how did madara know of this? madara said itachi acted as a double agent, but how did itachi got in touch with madara, and became part of akatsuki? who and what made them got into contact with each other? there must be a mole within konoha that serves madara, the mizukage of the mist. if madara desires to be the lord of the ninja world, then konoha/the land of fire is his biggest obstacle. as any strategist would naturally know, the divide and conquer style is still a very effective tool. no house can stand on its own if it is divided within itself. as we see now, no one stands as as divisive factor within konoha but danzo. his logic is flawed in the very fact that he blames the third, jiraiya, tsunade, and almost everybody for the destruction of konoha by orochimaru and by pain, while he was directly responsible for not allowing naruto to come back and stop pain from destroying konoha by killing the frog who's to summon naruto. i also think danzo has something to do about tsunade's coma. remember the 'unknown' character who greeted tsunade after she was taken out of the battlefield. who was that person? and that was the last time we saw tsunade conscious and well. the 'traitor' struck at the moment of her weakness. i just hope in the next chapter objections would be forwarded against the irrational decision of the fire lord to appoint danzo as the sixth hokage. let us not forget that it was a council meeting, so the council members have the voice to veto the decision of the fire lord.

If danzo can persuade the firelord and his council that the third was responsible for every atrocity that has faced konoha, im sure he can sonder up the people of konoha to have negative feelings towards naruto. But what i think danzo will do is rather have naruto on "house arrest" and keep him from participating in training further and political issues since he (naruto) knows how danzo is wicked and the truth he has learned from his father and pein about madara and the goals of akatsuki.

@56 i agree danzo will most likely confined naruto to the village, remember danzo is the one who was against tsunade letting naruto leave and search for sasuke. He thinks it’s best for naruto to remain in the village at all times and not go on missions since akatsuki is out to get the ninetailfox.

Tobi aka Madara = danzo is very plausible, but wwaaaayy to obvious on kishi part. (i would never buy it ) On top of that there are just way to many holes for that theory to hold true. 1. I would find it funny that madara being the mizukage, and being the face of danzo, with no one recognizing him danzo being the mizukage. You would think the faces of the 5 great kages would be well known throughout the ninja world, for the village elders as well as the fire lord not to recognize the face of the mizukage being danzo would be ridiculous. 2. Sasuke recognizes danzo as one of the village elders, why would madara=danzo ever reveal his face to sasuke like he was about to in chapter 397? Knowing full well that sasuke will recognize the face of his own village elder, and then later on tell sasuke that danzo(=madara) is one of the elders responsible for making his brother (itachi) kill his entire uchiha clan. Kishi is trying to make it painfully obvious that tobi can = danzo, but you shouldn’t be so easily fooled into this belief. At the summit of the 5 kages it will be clear that danzo cannot = tobi when danzo=hokage and madara=mizukage are in the same room together. @53 NightWizard you briefly pointed out a theory I’ve been speculating for a while now, which is danzo= madara’s little brother. If you can image this theory would explain everything 1. Why tobi covers his left and danzo covers his right eye, would be because they’re blind in each other’s respective eye, due to the over use of mangekyo sharingan. 2. It would explain why danzo wants control over the leaf, following his brother orders they would be in control of the leaf, mist, rain and sound village as well as akatsuki. ( remember danzo has an alliance with oroc and hanzo ). 3. How they manage to be one step ahead of everyone else. (I question how madara knew the truth of itachi) or ( how danzo knew akatsuki’s leader pein was once jiraiya pupil... I was under the impression that only naruto and the toads knew that fact.) 4.Why danzo hates the teachings of the third so much aka the senju way. 5. How they used itachi as pawn, bring down the leaf (konoha down fall can trigger a 4th ninja war). .... I can go on forever on this topic, but you see the point. Madara claims he killed his little brother, but at the same time says “what man would willingly harm his own little brother”. Madara being an older brother just like itachi, would have found a way to keep their younger brother alive no matter what the circumstances were. We can’t believe that everything madara has told sasuke is the truth, madara would only reveal things to his own benefit.

I think the brother just died because of blindness on the battlefield or something. remember when Itachi told Sasuke about the eternal mangekyou sharingan? there he still was in his way of threatening sasuke so he fights for real, he could have said anything just to anger sasuke. On the other hand, why shouldnt madara tell the truth to Sasuke? of course he is still hiding something but i really believe madara wouldnt lie to someone he easily could defeat ( Madara > Itachi > Sasuke). What im trying to say is.. right now we have 2 versions of Madaras story, one from itachi and one from madara.. i bet there is a 3rd version, the real one but we'll see^^ btw very good point about Danzou =/= Madara. It just wouldnt make sense to let the reader guess about them to be the same person and than reveal => they have nothing to do with each other. The appointment of Hokage is fitting for Danzo. It all fits into the Uchiha's revenge plot. It would be the only way for Sasuke to have a shot at Danzo. Remember that Danzo have been underground for a long time. He only comes out when it is necessary. Sasuke would not have had a chance to find him. As Hokage, it will be easier to locate him as Sasuke is familiar with the the office of the Hokage. Poor Tsunade, the princess is down for the count and I don't think she will ever wake. It will be an end fit for Senju princess who was Hokage to die with honor. Her life for the villagers. Tsunade's death will force Sakura to grow-up. Later, evidence leading to the Senju Princess's death with point the wicked ways of the now be 6th Hokage, Danzo.

As for Naruto being the Hokage now would be a huge mistake. He does not have the maturity to rule. He has proven that the main focus is to get Sasuke back to the leaf. With that reason, he will not warrant any other thing important enough until he finishes his personal mission. I think that Kishi still have many things planned for Naruto. He will have to interact with the other four ninja countries and change their important leaders, like with Gara, in order to change the ninja world. This will have to be accomplished before he can bring Sasuke back to the leaf. The secret truth, he will fail in his personal mission. Sasuke will never return to be part of leaf.

Homura and Koharu; We keep trying to connect Danzo and Madara. I have even attempt to do the same. I think we have to consider something else. I was reading some back manga, 398 and up relearning about Madara and Sasuke. It is interesting to know that Madara got his information about the Uchiha clan. It is certainly possible that Danzo told Madara about the situation. It is also possible that Koharu is known to take advice from Danzo. This is why we see her speaking out against Tsunade. It is surprising that she does not appoint herself or Homura to be Hokage. Both of them are capable of holding the status. However, we have never seen their true fighting skills. We know that Koharu is a genjutsu master and can easily counter any genjutsu techniques. Danzo most likely used Madara to aid in the destruction of the Uchiha clan. At the time of the massacre, Itachi was not capable of killing shinobi as powerful as his father.

It would be nice to see Naruto back at Frog Mountain training. This time, training in sealing techniques along with other ninjutsu. I think he has to develop his method in strategies and formulate seals. Also he have to work on his latent type/s. I hope that Kishi make a little of the Third Hokage in the future Naruto. If this happens, then Naruto will be able to use all the types. Earth, Wind, Water, Fire, and Lightening (not so much this one). The combination of types and seals will make Naruto very formidable.

Interesting thoughts and ideas sato, I enjoyed reading them. As for naruto not rescuing sasuke i think im going to have to disagree respectfully. Naruto's generation is almost about to take over and we have seen many times now that naruto has mastered skills that his mentors could not. Just like Jiraiya couldn't rescue orochimaru, i believe naruto will rescue sasuke. I believe that naruto will mature sooner or later and he will greatly. He already has the respect of the villagers and has been acknowledged of his strength. Naruto has not gone back on his world and is the child of destiny. He is the one that will bring change to the ninja world. If you remember, naruto promised sakura that he will bring sasuke back and i believe he will. What i believe will be the ultimate sacrifice for naruto will be giving up his pursuit for the position of Hokage. I think naruto will bring sasuke back and want him to be the hokage so that an uchiha (sasuke) one of the founding tribes of konoha can finally become hokage and break the curse of the senjuu. As for naruto i believe he will travel the world like his sensei and change the world of ninjas as he sees fit. Who knows perhaps the child of the prophecy will write his own series of books... who knows i might be going to far but its just my two cents. I mean it will be hard for naruto to give up his dream to become hokage but who knows maybe rescuing his friend and becoming hokage is what might actually happen. Just my two cents.

Despite Naruto’s small age he has proven himself as the only true person capable of being Hokage throught Shippudden countless times. You name it, saving Gaara and establishing peace and mutual pact with him, saving Rain village and establishing alliance with Konan (Kage of the Rain village)… The list could just go on and on… When dealing with talent it doesn’t matter what’s your age, in fact, it’s the opposite many times… The elders just loose the spirit over the time, they just learn to live on, abandoning their lives. In case of Danzo, many already mentioned that it’s the worst variant. He’s deceptive, aggessive, “stabbing from the back”, with low morals and honour… This current procedure, when Danzo was chosen as a Hokage, was really stupid. Councellors from Konoha and Shikaku should have had a veto right to block some of the decisions of the external to Konoha parties(like Fire land Lord, who’s has a pretty “nominal” position, i should say), which would lead to weakening its overall position. This decision was a very rash decision, we currently may not have all the details which led to this outcome. They probable would be disclosed later in manga Things i found really intriguing : 1) we can see that, the fire lord was REALLY scared of Danzo… in order not to disclose his fear he closed his face with this tool in his hand (i don’t know it’s name) 2) everyone except shukaku was pretty ok with the outcome of Danzo being hokage, only Shikaku disagreed 3) among the councellors of the fire lord, one was particularily defending Danzo’s self-promotion for the title. 4) Danzo may have some actions taken agains Shikaku, his face was really scarry when he heard him voting for Kakashi

Sorry, T9TW, I usually don't read these comments anymore, just posting when I see fit, to raise multiple questions. I'm intereseted in, if someone can remember or find, did anyone state Danzo vas Senju? If he is, then everything goes down the drain, if not, I'm definatelly up for Madara's brother theory. Also, Danzo hates Naruto, his power, his ideas, his temper. He will deal with him somehow, and seeing how Naruto is still naive, everything can happen. Danzo can also make something up about Naruto's actions and motives for same, to destroy his reputation within Konoha population (same happened with HP series imo, in 5th book, HP was decraded to a mentally disoriented kid)

Another thing I forgot to add, is that Naruto has alliances with 2 out of 5 great ninja villages, Madara controls Mist and now, maybe, Konoha, while Lightning is neutral (for now that is). Raikage's personality is smilar to Naruto, so there will be another alliance. Then, Naruto can fight for Hokage title and make his peaceful world... The only problem is mist but meh xD Going to stop blabing or posting for couple days now xD

I don't think Danzo will be the sixth hokage. The simple fact of the matter is the elders know of how he was involved with the uchiha murders even if they were in on the mission that was given to Itachi. What dumbass in his right mind would make someone who has no problem killing the strongest group of ninja's in Konoha. Plus it would in a way ruin the whole story line but we will see. I have a feelings Naruto will be the 6th Hokage but hey who knows! we'll just have to see next week.

To comment 69, lord8469, I understand your confusion with the Fire Country Lord. There are a few puzzling things. First I want to state that in Japanese old political structures, the Daimyo is a Samurai that serves as the visible icon or authority to represent order, usually appointed via the Emperor and then through the Shogun. It visible that that fool is not a samurai. Furthermore, the appointment of the Hokage is too immediate. As for Homura and Koharu, they both work with Danzo and he is not hated by them both. There are two main reasons why Tsunade and Jraiya was choosen over Danzo. It is considered lineage. Danzo has to be one of the powerful clans in the village in order to get the position of counselor. We know that he is not Senjuu, via the reactions of Princess Tsunade. It is highly possible he is Uchiha, but only speculation due to the fact he was willing to wipe-out the whole Uchiha clan (he may be a sympathizer with Madara, his Anbu spies are everywhere). It fact there is much evidence to show that they both have taken advice from him and have condoned his actions. This is why the fillers are important. Look at the Fire Temple Arc and you will find the clip with Danzo meeting his spy living in the Rain country. Danzo has proven him self to be loyal to Konoha and is considered to be closer to Hanzo by actions.

Comment 71, I agree with Danzo and the Naruto situation. Danzo can't just get rid of Naruto at this point. For this very reason, I think Kishi made it this way so that there is no possible way for Danzo to get rid of him. One, he is the son of the 4th Hokage and Danzo is well aware. That fact is also known by the Daimyo. I think that Kishi didn't bring up Naruto because he will have to disclose the lineage of Naruto and there it will be openly confirmed knowledge (to the readers and we still need to see the one-on-one talk with Kakashi and Naruto because Naruto knows that Kkashi was a student of the 4th Hokage). At this point, only a handfull of people know that Naruto is the son of the 4th, two are dead, one in a coma, and the others are, Yamoto, Kakashi, Danzo, Homura, and Koharu (the counselors). Even though it is not mentioned, I am inclined to think that the leader of each clan in the leaf knowns about Naruto lineage. We will have to keep our eyes open in the fillers to find out where Danzo may have originated. Danzo will have to slowly poison the villagers against Naruto, which will prove difficult.

One other thing I want to mention. I don't think that Madara is still the Mizukage. I am looking at the timeline and it seems to be too long. If he is truly immortal, then he will still be. Zabuza left the 7-swordsmen clan a long time before he even met Haku. He was killed when Naruto was still a child. Madara, via Kisime's affirmation, tells us that he was Mizukage at some time. Now, we know that Kisame is old himself. He was recognized by Asuma via the bingo book when he, Kisame and Itachi came to Konoha looking for Naruto. So I am inclined to think that Madara, may not be at this point in time to be Mizukage. This will make things more interesting when the Kage summit comes about. There will be no pointers to show alliance between Danzo and Madara because he will not be there.

@77 i thought it was well known already that kisame is over a century old, i believe hes even older then madara himself. But no one knows how this is possible, i just assume its due to his huge amount of charka and his senjutsu. ( my opinion)

What concerns me, is why madara only uses his right eye and his ultimate goal of luring sasuke to his side. Is there some level or form of sharingan that we do not know of? Is there some sort of connection between the nine tails and madara besides being able to control the fox? We still dont know what madaras ultimate goal is of capturing all the tailed beasts. Is it the same as peins? capturing all of them and making a weapon or simply controlling them for himself. What if madaras powers or part of his body was sealed with the dark half of the kyuubi? Just a thought.

Naruto will not become hokage for the simple reason that he is to young. To put a 15 year old in charge of the entire village is unreasonable no matter how strong he/she is. (garra is the only exception to this rule, hes proven to be responsible, mature and hes not reckless and has control unlike naruto). I’ve been saying this for a while, there needs to be a time lapse in which after naruto will become hokage. (Which i believe will occur once kishi has started the 4th ninja war. naruto roll will be to end this war and bring eternal peace to the entire ninja world and this is where the series will finally end)

mhh i just came up with a new theory about Madaras goal thanks to comment #82 .. i mean, while there were no hidden villages and the clans fight more or less for themselves and against each other, Madara was a well-known and fearsome Ninja, he had reputation and his hunger for blood on the battlefield could be feed everyday. i dont know why but i came up with the idea of madara being a villain like Joker from Dark Knight.. evil just because he IS evil u know what i mean? So what if Madara seeks out all the tailed beasts to "free" them or better to use them to destroy the current Ninja World with its Hidden Village System? I seriously dont get the connection to danzou but if there is one i bet he just uses him to set up chaos through a 4th Ninja war and in the same time wants to send all 9 beasts out for complete confusion and massacre.. if i were a bad, fight addicted, powerful ninja like Madara i would like to see that.. xD just my thoughts about madaras current plans.. ^^ anyway i dont get why Madara just uses 1 eye AND doesnt have Mangekyou activated permanently.. i mean he doesnt get blind does he? Please remember that age has nothing to do with position and heirs in Japanese culture, especially in both the Ninja and Samurai world. True, he is young, there are instants where children have been Lords or Daimyo appiointed or appointed by the Shogun. Its no different for Ninja or Shinobi. Its more about Naruto wanting to save Sasuke and his priorities are still immature. This is what Itachi asked him when he came to Naruto in genjutsu before giving Sasuke his eye techniques and finally dying.

I think Danzo is mardara and Tobi. And the reason he wanted Naruto in village, was to keep an eye on him and to limit his training. As we know the 5th had the black ops watching him so he could not leave the village freely, and he wanted Naruto in the village when Pein attacked the village. But it opens the question to why kill the messenger frog? I believe it was his plan to destroy the village and kill the 5th b4 Naruto returned so he could capture the nine tail when Naruto returned and become the 6th Hokage. Then the ruler of the ninja world (whole world), with all the tailed spider beast monster. I thought Pein summoned and controlled that monster thing that sucks the souls from the tailed demons, but now I think Pein was just being used by Madara/Tobi/Danzo. But now Danzo has accomplished most of his plan all but to capture the eight tail and nine tail demons. Dark times ahead 4 Konoha. here is what I think will happen. Killer Bee will train Naruto on how the control his demon before he is Killed by Susuke (yes Susuke, he will never lose to the same guy twice, and his brother dont count). Then Naruto and Susuke will have their epic battle #2, that ends in draw because of the real threat who is Danzo/Tobi/Mardara. They team up for the final Naruto Battle to save the world. Then everyone lives happily ever after and NO MORE NARUTO MANGA.

Since on one wanted to mention it I guess I will. We now know why Madara recruited Nagato. It main reason was to synchronize his chakra with the Gedo Mazo statue that encapsulated the tailed beast. Now Madara have to look for another pawn. We can only imagine who that will be. I guess the requirements are chakra transmission. I guess Madara had some knowledge on Nagato after all. For him to perceive Nagato's ability, and not being a toad sage, is impressive, none the less.

Ok Danzo is madara's brother!!! The story was fake! Madara took only one eye from his brother!!! It is so easy to understard it!!! In the next one I hope we will see Sasuke the best ninja!!!
