semtex - it is not entirely true - the 12 people seeding means 12 people have full file - but when you download file with bt, you allow others to download anything you already downloaded from you, what's more, the download process is random (unlike in ftp, where you download file from the start to the end), and in ideal situation it would be enough for the movie to be downloadable, if the seeder would give it away once - for example if seeder (name him S) uploaded 1/2 of the file to the first leecher (L1) and other 1/2 to the L2, and then disconnect - the L1 and L2 would still be able to download entire movie. So your counting is wrong from the bottom :)
