I don't think Sasuke is weak at all, he's extraordinarily talented. I'm not really a huge fan of his though, except as a rival and motivator for Naruto to become stronger. Sasuke has done a lot for Naruto in that sense. He's also shown his willingness to sacrifice himself for his comrades more than once, and I hope that strength of character hasn't gone away since his training with Orochimaru. I don't think it has though, because 1) He has never been shown as giving Orochimaru respect, even to the point that Kabuto seems shocked that Orochimaru lets him get away with it. 2) He doesn't take lives during his training with Orochimaru. 3) He frees Orochimaru's test subjects and even forbids his comrades to take any lives. That curse seal is NOT a boon to Sasuke, even Kakashi told him that if he becomes reliant upon it he will not progress as far as he could otherwise. Kind of like Naruto not using the Kyubii since he injured Sakura, except under strict conditions with Yamato there to control it. I think Naruto is moving towards using his own power more and more, but there's nothing wrong with him using the gift his father left him. I wonder how many of Orochimaru's techniques will stay with Sasuke if he is no longer the host for the snake. Quite a few I would imagine, but none of the ones that make Orochimaru virtually invincible and immortal.

Jiraiya was my favorite shinobi, period. He was never held out to be all powerful at all. By his own admission he was a failure at many things! But he kept on trying and in the end his pure desire to come through for everyone made him succeed in his mission as best he could. Tsunade may not be the weakest of the Sennins. She was crafty enough to poison Jiraiya for example, and if she had wanted him dead he would have been. (The 3 way sennin fight, remember?) She also gave Jiraiya a major beatdown, seriously injured him when she caught him peeping. She's pretty elite considering she didn't train for decades and had a severe phobia to blood. I guess it's open for debate, but it would all be speculation so what's the point? And I like Itachi myself, I am still gonna hold out for his actions to be justified. Even if he's a purely evil bastard he is/was a cool character. Heck, I can't really think of any of the characters I hate, they all add something to this great story.

he didn't ask? When oro was trying to take over, Sasuke took control of the jutsu, and took over Oro. If he wanted he could have killed him, but instead he choose not to. I find that hard to believe that if Sasuke took control, I'm sure he had a choice of either taking control of him, or to kill him.

Re-reading the chapter, I think it's inevitable that that snake will go for itachi. It ran away, but then it saw a chance to strike. So it either gets A-town stomped by sasuke, orrrr it suceeds, and somebody interferes....
