I don't know whether Sasuke would see his 'victory' here as a cheat given he didn't actually won anyway. Well, now that's over, what will Sasuke do next? Will he return to Konoha or stay a missing nin? And what will Tobi/Madara do, now that Itachi is dead? I have a feeling he needed Itachi in order to control the tailed demons better. Hmmm.... Interesting plot development here with Itachi's death.

Itachi is a good guy, all the sign's are pointing to it, He just trained sasuke in way that would make him more powerful by feeding sasuke hate and pain. All the weak people in the series have never experienced pain to any large degree, but I think it bullshit to believe itachi was a good brother teaching his younger brother how to be strong. Throughout this fighting series itachi explained why he was once niced to his brother then turned on his villiage and sasuke. Itachi is...oh sorry (WAS) an asshole and deserves death for his crimes. Now.... I am not a fan of Sasuke either, but I like him more then that crazy Itachi. I can't wait until Naruto and Sasuke mix it up a bit... He was blind this whole time, and he seemed to hit what he was aiming for pretty much all the time to me, so he could probly hit an eye that's not even moving too.. How can Sasuke feel good about his victory? He went in seeking revenge, but soon noticed he was over-matched and looked to Orochimaru to save his hole. That, to me, is a shift from "I'm an Avenger", to a cry indesperation for help. Again, like in his fight with Orochimaru where Orochimaru was in a weakened state, he didn't do it on his own and this time was running scared at the end because of biting off more than he could chew. Wouldn't it be interesting if there was a link between Itachi and Root? Maybe, Itachi was working for Madara and, more secretly, Root when he killed all the Uchihas. Wasn't it one of Sai's mission when working for root to kill an uchiha? I find a lot of similarities between Sasuke and Itachi. Sasuke has said some terrible things to Naruto about how he's changed and all he wants is revenge, but we all hope for that seed of friendship to drive him back to the good side. I think we look for that in Itachi and even witnessed this in Sai to a limited degree. I'm not convinced that root has been inactive (aside from the Sai arc) up to this point in the story. We might be suprised as to the links Root has to recent and past events.

I think kishi is just playing with us here to see our reaction to this, and thats all cuz he fears if that he made a wrong move, he'll be loosing most his fans, so he's just playing safe for now. Also, just cuz the next chapter is title "Sasuke's victory" doesn't really mean anything, and you know why? cuz it had a big dam question mark right beside it. "Sasuke's Victory[[?]]". bichine, oro is trapped in a genjutsu, so I doubt that cuz according to Zetsu, who ever is stabbed with that sword (forgot the name) is trapped in a genjutsu for eternity.

I did not have time to read all comments, so if I repeat something already mentioned, sorry... But I noticed that Itachi's Susanoo changed somehow during the fight - in the last chapter try to compare its shape on pages 5 and 14 - as if it changed to something that looks like skeleton... Maybe it is related to Itachi's health of something, maybe it is just my imagination :-)

this fight was wonderful while it lasted. kishi good job and for all of u that think sasuke was not on itachi's level think about this. itachi fought against oro and won becos he had d sharingan. so if sasuke trainned under oro, whooped oro and has d sharingan, wat does that tell u???? the fight was evenly matched and i also do not think itachi expected sasuke to have gotten so strong. so even if itachi is bad, he lost cos he didn't have d strenght or chakara to deal d final blow and claim his prize and if he is good, am sure sasuke learnt d lesson itachi was trying to teach him. ALI8006 without ms sasuke would have won this fight in the first 5 or 6 chapters. thats the only ability itachi used the entire match, and still didnt get the job done.itachi is the most skilled shinobi in the naruto universe IMO,but for sasuke to hang the entire fight,and the only one whos leaving alive...then the only logical thing to do is give sasuke MUCH credit, and just think if he had MS, no one would come close to beating hin.

the ending of this chapter was pointless. I wish sasuke got the magenkyou sharingan and stole itachi eyes as well to kill him, not just fall on the frickin floor. and wat the heck is naruto doing? Now i wish sasuke would die, right now he is taking to much away from the real story.

Next issue I bet Itachi is about to die from a snake bite but Saske won't let him because then Oro will have killed him. And Saske wants to kill Itachi without help from Oro. Then just as the chapter is about to end, the sister of the ice mirrors girl shows up. She announces that she has hunted down Saske for killing her sister and traps Saske and Itachi in ice mirrors. Itachi coughs up some blood and says, "WTF is this?"

Something bother me with this chapter. Itachi obviously had the upperhand for this eye plucking contest. In the 3 previous chapter Itachi fight sasuke with a killing intention (eye plucking intention, exactly), and he doesn't hesitate to kill sasuke to complete his own goal. Even until the last moment, he still able to perform and hold susano for some period of time. So the question is WHY SASUKE IS STILL STANDING ON HIS 2 FEET???!! And with that ILLEGIBLE WORDS itachi says and that POKE, kishi is trying to explain to us WTH is actually going on in the next chapter!! I honestly like Itachi better than Sasuke. He's a villain? Yes he does. He wipe out almost of his entire clan? Yes he did. All of that is to show us how powerful Itachi is. I haven't see any character with genjutsu powerful enough to compete with him (except GL MadaraF, and Jiraiya Frog Songs Genjutsu, and that Rinnegan Mystery Eye). But somehow, besides all those fact, I have feeling that Kishi willn't let Itachi be the strongest character in narute ever again. In nutshell, though hard to say this, he eventually will die... T_T

I think you misunderstood me, but what i meant was that Sasuke is basically worthless without the curse seal that oro gave him, and Oro's powers. This fight has been a 2 on one the entire time, it's funny how Sasuke is always giving speeches on how he'll kill Itachi with his strength, yet he was using Oro's powers the entire time. And it's not my fault that kishi is on Sasuke's side, and is making up pure bs. How can a regular sharingan defeat the power of a MS, and break free? It's bs thats what Also, Sasuke would have died for sure if he hadn't used one of oro's jutu to escape Amaterasu, so Itachi had clearly won. "I can see through ur jutsu's with my hatred". Sounds like one of dialog lines from the yu gi oh series. sasuke finally did it. his life dream has come true.long hard fought battle, but in the end sasuke survive in the end.itachi was a most worthy opponent but let his emotions get the best of him.first he tried the genjutsu, it failed terribley, then ninjustu,sasuke escapes.by this time itachi is bleeding out of every part of his body,but he still hadnt receive the eyes he long waited for, so he pulls out susanno knowing this is putting his life in great danger.he was surprise how far sasuke has come,and could not believe his younger brother can keep up without the MS.So itachi decides to settle on a draw, (much like dedria did) wishing if i going to die i will take you with me.itachi could withstand the pain coming from susanoo, so he passes out before geting the prize.sasuke noe realize theres nothing he cant accomplished,and its madard turn to face the legendary sasuke.
