it was clear that madara was just delaying the group so they could not interfere with the uchiha brothers unfinished business. surely he knows of it and has a great investment in whatever will happen as a consequence of the fight. going back to the finger, sasuke may not know that the finger has special powers and the uchiha blood has some sort of life on its own (its accursed, it is possessed by some evil power), itachi was not literally going to pluck his eyes out but take control of sasuke by special genjutsu; he could have transfered his soul within sasuke just as sasuke assimilated oro before. that is why itachi needed to expel oro first from out of sasuke so he could possess sasuke and not just his eyes.

this theory is still in line somehow with itachi and sasuke assimilating each other's powers and eyes so they could fight madara. itachi himself said that he plans to supplant madara, his mentor. it would be a great fight i imagine, and this follows also the pattern in this manga, the mentor vs. the student, and the student wins in the end; the new generation takes on the yoke of the older generation...etc. that kind of stuff.

@1125 ordo 90% is way over, but if it's true, then it is truly alarming; i'd say only the rivers in urban centers and where a large community of people live nearby are really polluted. mountain rivers are still cool and fresh... and the rural areas. i travel a lot in our islands and hike in our mountains whenever i can.

@1128 hey the poke is the climax of the fight...and the twist or its punchline. so i think it's major. you said so yourself that five panels or pages merely focused on sasuke's face in this chapter; that's a waste of a lot of space if it does not tell us anything... the evil grin and the bleeding eyes sure would lead us to more exciting upheavals in the next chapters... at least it gives us another hint as to who madara is and what is the true power of the Sharingan.

@ 1128 i did not say there was a pact, what's there is that they are each other's spare of eyes. they are unique brothers bec of that. both also stated somehow something about going against madara. itachi mentioned he would surpass madara by killing sasuke. what does that mean? i assume that after killing sasuke and getting more powerful bec of that, which makes them almost at par with each other with both having permanent/eternal MS, itachi will try to defeat madara and get also his eyes and his power... and gain the true power of the Sharingan.

@1138 madara may have already know yamato, zetsu reported to him what happened with kakuzu and hidan; yamato was there. surely, zetsu would have provided madara with the profiles of the konoha nins that the zombie twins encountered, fought, and lost to
