Btw. On page 17 it looks like itachi's "armor" meaning the skeleton around him is on fire. So he lit it on fire too with no chakra. And the skeleton seems to be transparent.. and it also appeared out of the ground or out of nowhere, meaning that it cannot be a simple lightning rod. So what is it, and why does it not require any chakra to summon?

Well itachi doesn't say he's out of chakra, but zetsu said that they should both be out of chakra. he was right about sasuke, and he knows itachi better, so I'd says he would probably know about him too. And also itachi has used amaterasu twice, and tsukyomi too, and last time he used that, he had to leave at once. he also looks very tired, almost not beeing able to stand straight, and remember that stamina and chakra are connected. So a whole lot points towards him beeing empty.

Liked the chapter, but it was a little bit boring about the unavoidable thingy. It seems it's getting a bit lame here with those jutsu's. It is just annoying to see that then sasuke is the best then itachi, and so over again. Hmmmmmm. there is 1 thing i am wondering, why is sasuke's mascara ( Or something how the black paint around his eyes is called) stretched from his left eye to the star above his nose. I just looked at the new chapter and it seems to be a bit different than befor. Normally there is no black painting from the star going to his eye according to chapter 390 and chapter 232 (Sas vs Nar)

Archangel, what makes you so sure that Itachi isn't the strongest in Akatsuki? He was trained by Madara, so I doubt that, and plus Itachi already stated in one of the previous chapters that the only one capable of surpassing Madara is none other than him self. And he also said that Madara is no longer a worthy ninja as he once was recognized as, so that also proves that Itachi has surpassed him in power. As for pein, he's strong, but not stronger than Itachi because he struggled to defeat jiraya, and we aren't even sure if he's dead. If I'm recalling it right, when Itachi first encountered Jiraya, and Jiraya used that frog stomach jutsu, it was easily broken through by Itachi's amatarus, so that proves that he's capable of taking out Jiraya. Remember the only reason he left was because he used tsukuyomi on sasuke few times, so he probably needed to relax his eyes for awhile. The robe theory is just retarded, so I wont comment on that. Even though, the fight looks in Itachi's favour, but I wont say for sure that he'll win cuz u never know kishi always does the unpredictable. Still it wont make any sense if Sasuke wins. -.-

Itachi sacrificed his sharingan to survive, in the last page he has no sharingan at all. That is how he was able to do the move.

Hi all, FutonRasenShuriken: Thanks for all of that info, kinda cool but in major wall of text format. There are some interesting theories presented around here, if you can stomach wading through the spam and occasional trollish type post. To all the "Sasuke Shippuuden" complainers out there, just remember that Naruto told us in chapter 1 that he would surpass all the previous Hokage. Do you see any reason why the Manga would do anything but have Naruto keep his promise? Even Kakashi states that he believes Naruto will surpass the 4th (who seems to have been the most deadly ninja this little universe ever produced) in chapter 321. I love that this story has so many characters, and that so many of those characters get a chance to shine. I also love that characters actually die, and not just characters that you don't care about. Jiraiya was my favorite character and he got bumped off. I liked Asuma and Saratobi too, but their deaths helped the story develop so much. Irengninja: Chapter 144 Kisame says Jiraiya might be a match for both he and Itachi. Then they both flee from Jiraiya when their ruse to lure him away from Naruto fails. Is that what you were referring to? I think many of these fights are like rock, paper, scissors (but more complicated). It seems that everyone has their match, no one is superior to every one. Just because Jiraiya was killed by Pein doesn't mean Itachi is inferior to Pein. Even though Itachi and Kisame together fled from Jiraiya, who knows 100% how a fight between those two would turn out? I figured that with a little history on Susano (Susanoo or Susanou) we'd have a better understanding of what it could be. @ 143, Just because Itachi broke one jutsu does not in any way mean that he can beat Jiraya. Itachi himself admitted that Jiraiya would defeat him, even if he teamed up with Kisame. They were forced to escape, because Jiraiya would have killed them both. He was able to repel both Akatsuki with only one jutsu. Why do you think they went through the trouble of casting a genjutsu on a beautiful women. They wanted to separate Jiraya from Naruto, because they knew it would have been impossible to capture Naruto otherwise.

@ 153. How do you figure that no one else besides Sasuke can beat Itachi. You don't need Sharingan to defeat either of them. Gai would definitely be more of a match for Itachi than Sasuke, because his fighting style is the direct antithesis for the Sharingan. And theres always the 8 gates. Also don't forget, Sasuke is going all out, yet Itachi has been almost completely blind the entire fight. He is past his prime. If Sasuke were to fight Itachi at the level he was at when Kakashi first fought him, Sasuke would definitely lose the fight, since during that time, Itachi's eyes were at their strongest. And you can't base you opinion of Kakashi being weaker than Itachi, on a fight that took place 3 years ago. Kakashi is many time more powerful than he was before the time-skip.

But I don't get it though... Why did Itachi's left eye change when he defended against the lightning-bolt? The other one changed when he used amaterasu to the fullest. So that would basically mean he just used some... hmm i think I just found something!
