You're talking about Kakashi's personal feelings towards being Hokage, which is nothing more than speculation. I'm just trying to say that Kakashi is the most qualified to become Hokage based on his knowledge and skill. And again, I don't think that Kakashi has a problem sending people on important, perhaps dangerous missions. Do you remember when Orochimaru tried to take over Konoha, Kakashi was the one who sent Naruto, Sakura, and Shikamaru to accompany Sasuke on capturing Gaara. As I remember, Kakashi said that he knows that Naruto would be excited to have another "A" Ranked mission. If Kakashi becoming Hokage was based on personal feelings, I would agree with you. I Think you're right Athias but I think that was only because he knew Naruto and Sakura well enough to know they could handle themselves hence the reason he nominated them to take part in the Chuunin exams but in small bits bacat is right too, If they were in any real danger he would not have sent them to go out on that mission. Like I said earlier, kakashi's a smart guy who understands himself more than anyone.

Okay, well that clears a few things up, Athias, thanks... I'll agree that he is the best jounin in Konoha as of the moment, but, I still don't think he is at the level of a Hokage, he might be the next in the running for such, but still not up there high enough unless he has drastically improved since Orochimaru confronted him (when he wanted Sasuke)... if he's improved then there is more of a possibility, but before the time jump, we saw him fail numerous times; he stated himself he couldn't defeat Orochimaru (who was as strong as a Hokage), then he "lost" against Itachi, who was merely an S-ranked missing nin (my hopes would be that a Hokage could have defeated him... if not... I don't think Hokage's should even BE Hokages)... while we know he's improved somewhat, we can't be sure of everything... I mean, he's having difficulties fighting Kakuzu right now, to the point where he needed backup to help him... So, either individually the Akatsuki members are all above the level of Hokage or Kakashi is not equal to the level of a Hokage....

And yes Yondaime was respected as the greatest ninja konoha ever produced -- The sannin being level of Kages ( or above) and The whitefang had the same respect and SKill level as them. kakashi However... I don't think that Kakashi needed back up! They're in a four man cell so they have to work together! Then again, I think you're right! Kakashi's match with Kakuzu is nothing to brag about. In my opinion, I think that most of the members in Akatsuki are strong enough to be Kages. I mean Sasori would've been a good Kazekage, Kisame could have been a good Mizukage. I think Itachi would've made a great Hokage, since I think that Itachi is one of the sickest ninjas in Naruto. Maybe Hidan isn't strong enough because now I think his abilities are corny. I mean that voodoo doll-like justu is his trump card. He really isn't intelligent. I'll give him credit for be being observant, but how far can that go. As far as Kakashi vs. Itachi, I think that Kakashi underestimated the power of his Sharingan. But, that doesn't mean he can't beat Itachi, although I think it's unlikely. Kakashi did have better credentials then Itachi. Kakashi graduated from the academy at age 5, became a Chuunin at age 6. Whereas, Itach did it at age 7 and 8 respectively. Kakashi hasn't shown the true extent of his powers against Kakuzu, I guess we'll have to wait until the next chapter.

I really think that Jiraiya is the strongest ninja, without know the abilities of the other Akatsuki members. Statistically wise, Jiraiya was a more skilled Jounin than Orochimaru( Just comparing.) Jiraiya has completed more S-Rank, A-Rank, B-Rank, C-Rank, D-Rank missions than Orochimaru and Tsuande did as jounin. Itachi was also afraid to go against Jiraiya, even though he had Kisame with him. So if Orochimaru says that Itachi is stronger than him, and Itachi says Jiraiya is stronger than him, then it's logical to say that Jiraiya is stronger than Orochimaru. Yet, Orochimaru still sees Jiraiya as a joke. Mmmm...

The reason why I said that it didn't matter whether or not the abilities were reveal was because of something that Itachi said. When Itachi was talking to Kisame on how they should confront Naruto, while Jiraiya was with him, Itachi said that if they fought Jiraiya they would die. Itachi also said that if they had "more men" the result would change. Most likely "more men" would be more akatsuki members. I'm pretty sure Itachi knows the abilities of the other members of Akatsuki. So, by Itachi making this statement, it's concluded that Jiraiya is the strongest ninja.

Well, the fight between Orochimaru, Jiraiya, and Tsunade is confusing. What would have happened if Orochimaru had his arms to perform seals and Jiraiya wasn't poisoned by Tsunade, and Tsunade wasn't beaten to a pulp before getting over her hemophobia? I still say that Jiraiya would've won. Orochimaru's fighting style didn't really change much with his arms gone. He fought similarly to the way he did with the Third, and four tailed Kyuubi transformed Naruto. He could've also had Kabuto perform the seals for him, as he did with summoning Mando and the jutsu in which he switches bodies. In Jiraiya's case, the poison was like the Five Elements Seal, it messed up his chakra manipulation. So Jiraiya wasn't able to fight normally I definitely think that Jiraiya can kick Itachi's ass any day of the week. In Naruto 2, its clear that Jiraiya knows how to resist Itachi's sharingan. To be Honest, I don't think that Orochimaru is weaker than Itachi, I think that it would be hard for Orochimaru to kill him. I think Orochimaru can kill Itachi if they go head on. Orochimaru is no pushover. Itachi is skilled but without his Sharingan, there's not much to him except for his ninjutsu and taijutsu, which I think that Orochimaru can resist. But right now, at this point in the manga, it's hard to tell. Unless we know the full extent of Itachi's abilities, I can't for sure if he can kill Orochimaru. Wow, I got off topic. I still stand by my choice that Jiraiya can beat Orochimaru, head on, at full strength.

im too lazy!! to read all the comments, but from the looks of things there is a chance that Tobi=Obito.... but i was thinking kinda the same thing, u know how Zetsu is like all over the place, spying.... i think he was there when Obito gets crushed and what not, maybe Zetsu was like a shinobi of the Rock village and he might have saved Obito from dieing.... if that was the case, then u can also assume that the 4th could be AL cuz the 4th didn't try to escape enemy territory with Obito's body in hand.... he just left with Kakashi and Rin...... the reason y he did that is cuz the 4th was already giving Zetsu orders, telling him to take Obito's body with him and to raise him or something, of course this being before Obito actually "died" per say............... that is y Zetsu only take orders from the big boss himself, the Akat. Maybe Zetsu was spying all along, and before he was actually killed, he saved him. Because he "got crushed", it doesn't mean his eye was destroyed. All assumptive theories. I also believe Jiraiya is the top Ninja (shown so far). Mainly because if you all look back to the episodes in Naruto 1, the Perverted Instructor was begging Jiraiya to fight in place of the 3rd Hokage. The theory that he couldn't beat Orochimaru because of the whole "broken friendship" dealie may be true, however. As shown when Naruto finally saw Sasuke in Naruto 2. Well to make you guys more happy (Tobi=Obito suporter), I’ll add something to support the theory. While, Bacat said why Zetsu called Tobi as a good boy is because Zetsu found and raised Obito. Well I have different point of view. …. This is what I thought; Zetsu was using his spying no jutsu (stealth mode, mixed his body with rocks or trees) in the whole Kakashi Gaiden. He heard Obito story to carrying some of Old woman Luggage, also, Zetsu watched how Obito chose to save Rin and said White Fang is truly a hero. Finally, Zetsu watched Obito giving his sharingan to Kakashi. Yeah Zetsu somekinda consist of two/splited personality. One is a “good” and another one is “robotic”. The good side of Zetsu senses the kind-hearted deeds of Obito. And called him a good boy. (another word for nice boy) yep, why boy? and not guy (then, become "good guy")? because when that happen Zetsu saw Obito as a teen age boy. …… And more speculatively saying, re-open chapter 329 page 16 and 17. Yes, the page when Yondaime try to detect how much is enemy around. Take a look how Yondaime touch the ground, and saying “ He’s alone?...yeah” And then he recognized the amount of enemy is 20 (a precise amount) and he can assured that the enemy is actually one person the rest (19) is only kage bunshin, how impressive right? He figured it out up to details. … maybe …. He was "communicating" with Zetsu at that time to ask the amount of enemies. (By touching the ground surface). What do think guys ?? (The “good boy” and “Yondaime-Zetsu” connection is actually split able concepts/ideas; you don’t have to mix them together) ..... You know what guys, I think Tobi is actually blind!! ... Well get this, Obito crushed, Obito sharingan right eye extracted, Obito left for dead, Rock crushing Obito contains Zetusu.
